Some people have their therapist, their hairdresser and some even have their confessor. I have my instrument fixer.
Béatrice has been my technician for ever. She is the beauty at ‘Le Coin des Bois’ I met her when she was still an apprentice in instrument fixer. I was not yet an apprentice clarinetist which I was longing to become . I decided to invest , no matter the cost, in excellence and chose a E13 by Buffet Crampon.
Béatrice is the one who talked me into buying such a jewel. She allowed my teacher to have access to all the E13.
After he had blown into them all, I followed with admiration my teacher’s advice and I bought one .
To be honest, I had noticed no difference between the seemingly identical instruments but I never ever had to complain about that choice.
Time went by and the young apprentice girl became an independent instrument fixer. I’m still an apprentice clarinetist .
As she settled nearby my place, I, of course, remained a faithful customer .
The charm of La Cité Riverin, the character of the workshop, the way we are welcomed are indeed some of the many reasons to go there from time to time should it be for a chat …. Though, she quite frankly prefers it when we settle the deal with her !
When giving her my clarinet for some diagnoses, I also realized my favorite technician was a remarkable musician and that her advice could be more than only technical.
